China’s C9 University Alliance and The Russell Group of Britain have held a round-table conference to seek cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation for solutions to global challenges.

C9 university alliance includes nine first-class universities in China such as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Shanghai Jiaotong University while The Russell Group is composed of 24 top-ranking research universities of Britain.

“Environmental pollution, aging societies and extremist organizations are the common challenges for human beings which urgently require cooperation between universities of different countries and the intelligence of the whole world,” said Zhang Jie, rotating chairman of the C9 Alliance.

Zhang also indicated that discussion and cooperation between the C9 University Alliance and The Russell Group opened a new prospect for further university alliance cooperation in the future.
