Hao Ping, China’s vice-minister of education, met with Liga Lejina, state secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science, on October 11 in Beijing.

Hao Ping welcomed Lejina, who was invited to China to attend a China-EU Education Ministers Conference and the Fourth Education Policy Dialogue with Central and Eastern Europe, and praised Sino-Latvian education cooperation.

Hao said that China is willing to work together with Latvia to further strengthen cooperation in language training, other regional and national academic fields, and sport. He also expressed his willingness to sign bilateral education cooperation agreements with Latvia at a later date.

Lejina indicated that Latvia is willing to work with China to implement the content of the meeting and strengthen communications between two countries.
