Chen Baosheng, China’s Education Minister, received an Egyptian delegation led by Ashraf Shihi, the country’s Minister of higher education and scientific research, on Aug 17, praised the fruitful results of cooperation between the two countries in education and pointed to the potential in future cooperation.

Chen said that these concern topics of common interest in higher education, vocational education, study abroad, language teaching, and general communications.

He also pointed out that this year is the 60th anniversary of Sino-Egyptian diplomatic relations and said that China looks forward to working with Egypt in line with the consensus their leaders have reached at various meetings, and in promoting further development in education, exchanges, and cooperation for their mutual benefit.

Shihi responded by saying that Egypt is ready to meet China half-way in expanding communications and increasing Sino-Egyptian cooperation in higher education in every aspect.
